ŘÍČANY
Říčany (Czech pronunciation: [ˈr̝iːtʃanɪ]; German: Ritschan) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has around 16,000 inhabitants, is located 20 km south of the center of Prague, and it takes about half an hour to get to the Prague Main railway station by train. The town is part of the Prague metropolitan area. The first documents about the town date back to the year 1289. In the Middle Ages, there was a large castle in Říčany, but during the Hussite Wars it was occupied and set ablaze, and during the Thirty Years' War it was destroyed.
