The Castle of Pesqueira is a building inspired by a fortified residence in the municipality of Pesqueira , in the interior of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco . It constitutes an important tourist attraction in the city. With Greek, Roman and Ionian inspirations and Gaudí- style minarets , the work was built in the 1980s around the former home of the merchant Edvonaldo Torres. There was no preliminary project, but only reconstructions made to expand the previous residence. The building, with an area of ​​14,400 m², has an exterior ornamented with gargoyles, battlements and chains, and the internal part decorated by luxurious chandeliers and various busts and paintings.
