Sam Denby is an American YouTube personality and podcaster, best known for creating the YouTube channels Wendover Productions and Half as Interesting.
Denby created the YouTube channel Wendover Productions on February 11, 2010. He uploaded his first video about the psychology of advertising on August 31, 2015. Denby has since uploaded hundreds of other videos. As of April 2021, he has over 2.88 million subscribers and over 394 million channel views. His videos are most commonly about logistics, most notably those of aviation, as well as geography and economics. His video on Tourism in Iceland received significant attention.
On August 31, 2017, Denby announced the creation of a second channel called Half as Interesting. The channel was launched to be a continuation of a series called "That Wikipedia List" or TWL, which had covered topics Denby chose from Wikipedia:Unusual articles, but the new channel would not be limited to that list. Videos are released 3 times every 2 weeks, every Thursday and every other Tuesday at 10:30 am Eastern Time, and cover various assorted topics.
As of April 2021, the channel has over 1.78 million subscribers and over 313 million channel views. Half As Interesting has a Nebula Exclusive called The Brick Facade. Its name is derived from Denby's tendency to start videos about secret topics with facts about bricks.
