Chayanne was born on June 28, 1968 in Rio Piedras (Puerto Rico). Son of Quintino Figueroa, sales manager, and Irma Luz Arce, a teacher, who died on April 17, 2014, after a long fight against cancer. He was the third of five siblings. In 1992, "Provocame" was released, an album in which he made a spectacular makeover. He combines his musical activity with acting as an actor.
