HUGH DENNIS
Peter Hugh Dennis (born 13 February 1962) is an English comedian, presenter, actor, writer, impressionist and voice-over artist, best known for being one half of Punt and Dennis with comedy partner Steve Punt. He played Pete Brockman, the father in the BBC One sitcom Outnumbered and since 2014 he has played Toby in the long-running sitcom Not Going Out. Since 2005, Dennis has been a regular panellist on the BBC Two satirical comedy show Mock the Week. Dennis was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, the younger son of schoolteacher Dorothy Mary (Hinnels) and John Dennis. His brother, also named John, was the British Ambassador to Angola from 2014 to 2018. He grew up in Mill Hill in North London as his father was appointed as parish priest of Mill Hill soon after his birth. His father later became the Bishop of Knaresborough and then of Saint Edmundsbury and Ipswich. Dennis was educated at University College School in London. During his time at UCS, he played rugby with Will Self and was head boy in his final year. Subsequently, Dennis went on to read for the Geographical Tripos as an exhibitioner at St John's College, Cambridge. His dissertation was titled "The Spatial Distribution of Elementary Education in 19th-century Wakefield". He also joined the Footlights, where he first met Punt and club president Nick Hancock and the trio collaborated on a number of projects besides the annual revue.

Leslie Dennis Heseltine (born 12 October 1953) is an English television presenter, actor, and comedian. He presented Family Fortunes from 1987 until 2002. Dennis was born Leslie Dennis Heseltine on 12 October 1953 in the Garston suburb of Liverpool. His mother worked in a factory while his father, who worked in a betting shop after serving in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, was listed as a football player on the books of Liverpool FC but did not play for the first team. He lived in the suburb of Speke for a while and attended the Stockton Wood and Joseph Williams primary schools, before going on to attend Quarry Bank High School upon passing his 11-plus, by which time his family had moved to the suburb of Childwall. He had a weekend job in the men's clothing store Burton while in school, and started as a stand-up comedian in working men's clubs. Dennis has a son named Philip from his first marriage to Lynne Webster, which lasted from 1974 to 1990. He also had an affair with actress Sophie Aldred, which he documented in his autobiography. He married actress Amanda Holden on 4 June 1995. They had a temporary split in 2000 when Holden's affair with actor Neil Morrissey was exposed in the press, before eventually separating in December 2002 and divorcing in 2003. Dennis met Claire Nicholson in 2005. The couple have a daughter, Eleanor Grace, who was born on 24 April 2008. They were married on 23 November 2009 in Highgate. Their son, Thomas Christopher, was born on 14 April 2011. Dennis is a lifelong Liverpool F.C. fan. As revealed on BBC panel show Would I Lie to You, Dennis retains his fingernail clippings for use as impromptu toothpicks.
