ROB DEERING
Rob Deering (born 1972) is an English comedian, musician and writer. Deering grew up in London and Oxfordshire and lives in London with his wife Julia and their children. Deering is an avid runner and has run eight marathons including five London Marathons; so far he has raised nearly £100,000 for Parkinson's UK. Deering was the host and writer of three series of Out to Lunch on BBC Radio 2. He also hosted 99 Things to Do Before You Die on Channel 5. In 2007, Deering appeared on a special edition of The Weakest Link, winning the show and answering all his questions correctly.Deering also appeared on the Channel 4 quiz show Fifteen to One in 1997. He won an edition of Celebrity Mastermind broadcast on 28 December 2014 with a score of 27 points. Deering has appeared as a guest on shows including Banter, 4 at the Fringe on BBC Radio 4 and Jammin on BBC Radio 2. He has also guest starred in Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks. He took part in the 'Laughing for a Change' project in 2014, which aimed to raise awareness of mental health through a comedy tour, also featuring Mrs Barbara Nice and Seymour Mace. The project was supported by Time to Change. He currently cohosts a running themed podcast with fellow comedian and runner Paul Tonkinson called Running Commentary. Ellen Lee DeGeneres (/dəˈdʒɛnərəs/ də-JEN-ər-əs; born January 26, 1958) is an American comedian, television host, actress, writer, and producer. She starred in the sitcom Ellen from 1994 to 1998 and has hosted her syndicated television talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, since 2003. Her stand-up career started in the early 1980s and included a 1986 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her character, Ellen Morgan, also came out to a therapist played by Winfrey, and the series went on to explore various LGBT issues, including the coming-out process. In 2008, she married her longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi. DeGeneres has hosted the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, and the Primetime Emmys. She has authored four books and started her own record company, Eleveneleven, as well as a production company, A Very Good Production. She also launched a lifestyle brand, ED Ellen DeGeneres, which comprises a collection of apparel, accessories, home, baby, and pet items.She has won 30 Emmys, 20 People's Choice Awards (more than any other person), and numerous other awards for her work and charitable efforts. In 2016, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In January 2020, DeGeneres received the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes for her work on television, becoming the first recipient after its inaugural namesake Carol Burnett. In the summer of 2020, her show was the subject of controversy when investigated for being a hostile workplace and for alleged harassment towards staff. After an internal investigation, three senior staff exited; DeGeneres apologized and vowed to make it a workplace where "everyone would be treated with respect."
