Alex Power was the oldest of four children of both Doctors James Power and Margaret Power who were killed by the Snarks-Gnucci Crime Syndicate due to their breakthrough in quantum physics. Alex along with his other siblings met an alien Kymellian named Linus Whitemane whose son was also murdered. Angered by this, Linus empowered the kids with the abilities of his people and taught them to wage war against criminals as the vigilante group Punisher Pack. Alex took on the codename Zero-G and lead his siblings on a murderous rampage against the syndicate for a long time. The leader, Ma Snarks-Gnucci created Snark-Human Hybrids to reinforce her empire, but Alex and the others stopped her every time. The Punisher Pack finally came to the end of the road as Ma Snarks-Gnucci was their last target. Alex and his group decimated their opponents killing all of them

Alexander Ryking worked at the Alamogordo Nuclear Research facility alongside Brian Xavier and Kurt Marko. When his son Carter's mutant powers first manifested themselves, Alexander placed him under heavy sedation because the power was uncontrollable. Unfortunately, no measures to cure or assist Carter worked, and he spent most of his life under tranquilizers. Carter and Brian Xavier's son Charles Xavier were both experimented on by Mister Sinister who injected them with his own DNA Years later, when Carter saw a news report of his father's death, he went berserk and lashed out with his powers. Wearing a battle-suit at his father's funeral, Carter, now calling himself Hazard, attacked his father's funeral and taunted Professor Charles Xavier
