Banzai (Earth-9997)
Not much is known about the past of the costumed hero named Banzai. He is American, but how he came to become a member of the super-group called Xen remains unrevealed. He would aid Xen in defending the Asian continent from any threats, however Banzai was very critical of their leader Lord Sonfire. He and his fellow Xen members would try and stop the Tong of Creel from stealing the hands of the Absorbing Man, which were entrusted to his fellow Xen teammate Tao. Xen failed in stopping the Tong from stealing the hands. Later Banzai would join his fellow teammates in aiding Dr. Strange in saving Clea from Asgard. It was during this time that Banzai began voicing his criticisms about Sonfire's leadership. The heroes would succeed in saving Clea, however they would find that during their absence, Japan was attacked by the reanimated corpse of Fin Fang Foom. With the help of Strange and Clea, Xen destroyed Fin Fang Foom. Banzai's current activities are presently unknown. The extent of Banzai's abilities are unknown or what effect the Terrigen Mists had on his physiology. He was a skilled martial artist and used a trident as his primary weapon.

Baphomet (Earth-616)
Daimon Hellstrom was asked by Katherine Reynolds to investigate a satanic cult which had been known to be operating around Gateway University. The day was actually Hellstrom's birthday, February 2nd, an important holiday in a satanic calendar known as Candlemas, and so he suspected that the group would be participating in a satanic ritual that night. The gathering, in fact, turned out to be a trap set by Hellstrom's father Satan and the leader took off his robe to reveal himself as Baphomet, one of Satan's most powerful servants. After a short skirmish, the rest of the group was transformed into a horde of demons as well. The Son of Satan was forced to retreat, in the hopes that Satan would not wish to reveal the presence of his minions in sight of the public. Satan was so incensed at his son's perceived betrayal, however, that Baphomet, carried by flying demons, followed Hellstrom to the top of the St. Louis Arch. After incinerating the flying demons, Hellstrom succeeded in blowing out a piece of the Arch from under Baphomet's feet, causing him to hurtle to his destruction far below, causing his spirit to be returned to Hell. When summoning Mephisto, Doom invoked Baphomet's name along with Beelzebub's, Satan's and Thog's.
