"Adam Essex (Earth-616)" VS "Adam Mann (Earth-616)"
Adam Essex (Earth-616)
Adam Essex is the first child of Rebecca and Nathaniel Essex. He was born in 1853, but, unfortunately, Adam was sick from birth and at the age of 4 he died. Adam's death drove Nathaniel to investigate genetics and how they influence who lives and who dies. Driven to find answers, Essex went so far as to dig up his son's corpse.[1] When Rebecca — who at that time was pregnant again — discovered her son's corpse in Nathaniel's laboratory and realized how far he went she was horrified. She reburied Adam, but the stress and grief led to the premature birth. The baby was born dead and Rebecca died shortly after.[2] Nathaniel was mentally and emotionally tormented when he realized that his search for knowleadge — triggered by the death of his first child — led to the death of his second child and his beloved wife. Not wanting to feel it, he turned to Apocalypse who transformed him into Mister Sinister — obsessed only with knowledge and not burdened by morality or emotions.

Adam Mann (Earth-616)
Adam Mann was raised by a single mother and never knew his father. As a boy, his head was filled with myths and legends of ancient gods through bedtime stories his mother read to him. As a man, he excelled in sports and went on to win more Olympic gold medals than any other athlete in history. His accomplishments were so great he was tested for the X-gene, but Mann was not a mutant. Gaining several endorsements, he made a financial fortune, and then built a business empire. He always suspected his father was an errant god like Hercules and began collecting ancient artifacts to harness their mystical energy, intending to amass so much energy that he could travel to places like Asgard or Olympus to find his father and slay him for abandonment. When he detected a new energy source to collect Mann and his private strike force attacked Thunderstrike and his Asgardian protector Gruenhilda. He nearly killed Kevin but before he could siphon the power from Kevin's mace, Mangog arrived, unintentionally summoned to Earth by the Mysticator. When Mangog asked if they were gods, Mann acknowledged this claim with pride; so Mangog devoured him.
