Ferrari was foundering in the '70s. Its road cars were flaccid and boring. Then came the midengine, V8-powered 308 and the company had a hot seller. It saved Ferrari.
Incredibly tiny and powered by a Ferrari V6, the Stratos was a rally car disguised as an alien starship. And it was World Rally Champion in 1974, 1975 and 1976.
