The 1970 redesign of Plymouth's Barracuda resulted in a broad beast that could swallow the 426 Hemi V8. It won the first NHRA Pro Stock championship and become the poster car for the muscle car era.
Porsche built 25 917s for homologation in 1969. It won Le Mans in 1970 and 1971, only losing when the rules changed. The 917 still holds the Le Mans fastest lap record.
