Shelby designed its own coil-sprung chassis, and fit the massive Ford 427 V8 to create the incredible Cobra 427. It's still one of the quickest cars ever built and it's somehow still in production today.
With their 3.8-liter turbo V6s, the all-black Buicks ruled the street in the 1980s. They were also the first and only American muscle cars powered by something other than a big V8.
