Shelby designed its own coil-sprung chassis, and fit the massive Ford 427 V8 to create the incredible Cobra 427. It's still one of the quickest cars ever built and it's somehow still in production today.
It's the dawn of the hot hatch with the lightweight Golf and a 1.6-liter engine producing 110 hp. It's the prototype for dozens of hot hatches yet to come.
