The AC Ace was a boring English sports car with a half-hearted Bristol engine. Carroll Shelby put the small-block Ford V8 in it and created a legend.
A DOHC, 32-valve, 5.7-liter all-aluminum V8 was exotic stuff in 1990. And 375 hp was awesome. The first Corvette to really take on and outrun Europe's best.
