Aardvark was mutated by Roger Fieldston. Roger had the power to activate latent mutations in anybody he touched. The mutations were often severe and grotesque. Roger had his powers reversed by Captain Universe after he accidentally mutated several people, causing them to riot. Roger went to seek out those he had mutated so he could take their powers away. Aardwolf was the leader of the Hyena Clan when they set out to steal from the Wakandan Reservoir. When they teleported in the were met by the students of Future Foundation who were on vacation at the time. Aardwolf spotted Dragon Man hiding near by and opened fire. The young heroes banded together and were able to use the teleporter to send them direct to Central Wakanda were they were met by the Black Panther and a large group of Dora Milaje.
